4.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

Our public website does not use any strictly necessary cookies. It has no login or user accounts, so there is no session cookie. 4.2 Analytics

We use our own privacy-preserving analytics, built and hosted by us on our own servers. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics service, and no analytics data about your visit is sent to any third party.

By default our analytics set no cookies and store no information on your device. We measure only aggregate, anonymous statistics — such as which pages are viewed, approximate visitor numbers, the approximate location a visit comes from (the country and, to town level, the general region and town — never a precise address or GPS position), how visitors arrived, and general device type. To work out this approximate location we briefly process your IP address in memory and then discard it; we store only the resulting place names (for example the country, region and town) and never store your IP address itself. Where we cannot determine a region or town, we simply record it as unknown. Because this stores nothing on your device and does not identify you, it does not require consent and runs for all visitors. You can still opt out using Global Privacy Control or Do-Not-Track in your browser, which we honour.

Optional analytics cookie (consent required): if you accept analytics, we additionally set one first-party cookie so we can count unique and returning visitors more accurately over time. It is set only after you opt in, is first-party, and is never shared.

4.3 Functional Cookies

We do not currently use functional cookies. If we add any in future (for example, to remember a display or language preference), we will list them here and set them only with your consent.

We do not use advertising or marketing cookies.

Consent under PECR must meet the UK GDPR Article 4(11) standard — it must be freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous.

This means:

• Pre-ticked boxes do not constitute valid consent

• We obtain consent before we set non-essential cookies, not after
